The Committee

After a revision to the Constitution in 2004, the committee consists (ideally) of the Society's five officers (President, Vice-President, Secretary, Membership Secretary and Treasurer) and 11 other member of the Society, five of whom should normally be resident in or near Oxford and six of whom should normally be resident elsewhere; additionally, the Chairman of the Sub-Faculty of Engineering Science is an ex-officio member of the committee.

The President is elected for a term of six years; the Vice-President is the Head of the Department at the time.

The Secretary, Membership Secretary and Treasurer are elected at the Society's AGM for a term of three years, and are eligible for re-election if they wish. The 11 other members of the committee are also elected at the AGM: they serve for six years, and may not serve again until at least a year has elapsed.
